Behavior Crisis Strategies

Student Advocacy

Mental health professionals are needed outside the realm of crisis and recovery, and are often found in many different occupations. There is a great need for those with psychology related degrees in the world of academics. Students have a better time learning more efficiently when there is someone to assess their individual needs and learning style. Behavior Crisis Strategies offers a multitude of services and solutions for both students and schools.

Student Identification

Time and time again, you often meet someone who tells you that “if someone would have recognized my struggles/individual needs back in school, I would have enjoyed learning and performed better.” Students with social, emotional, and academic barriers can often be overlooked as simply “misbehaved”. When this happens, the student often feels misunderstood and invalidated, leading to more behavioral/performance issues.

Our team can analyze students and determine the root cause of their behavior. In doing so, an individual plan can be developed (if needed), establishing a sound route to academic enjoyment and success.

Resource Connection

The lack of proper resources can stymie academic performance. Resources can range from physical resources, such as food and shelter, to social/psychological ones like emotional support or tutoring. Often times, students do not advocate for themselves due to feeling embarrassed or just simply lacking the know how.

We work with students, schools, and their families to help link students to the proper resources they need at the lowest cost possible. We can also help students learn to recognize when they need assistance and how one can advocate for their own needs.

Family Relations

Family relations goes outside the realm of simply the student having a healthy and stable family/home life. Schools and educators need to have a strong trustful connection with the families of students to have effective communication, allowing for full academic potential among students.

We work with students and schools to help make this happen. Whether the student needs individual/family counseling, or the school needs a liaison between families and their students, Behavior Crisis Strategies can offer a solution that work for everyone.

Peer Relations

The educational environment entails more than just academics. When students struggle to relate with or formulate close relationships with their peers, it has a major impact on their wellbeing and academic performance.

Behavior Crisis Strategies can help students who are having difficulties making friends or adjusting to the social aspect of the academic environment. Our team of psychologists can work with students to overcome social barriers and improve their confidence in participating in social activities.

Special  Education

Those with IEPS and 504 plans may need some extra help reaching their goals and advocating for their needs. Luckily, 4G concepts specializes in IEP and 504 plans, among other educational psychology fields.

When students and/or their parents cannot attend IEP/504 meetings, the student needs someone there to represent or support them. Our psychologists can review and analyze the student’s needs to create the most efficient educational plan possible.

We can also offer individual counseling/psychotherapy sessions for those in special education as well.
